Will Spray Foam Burn?
Spray foam has a fire retardant in it, which means it will not support a flame. If the source of flame is removed, it will stop burning. Polyurethane foam insulation is listed as a combustible insulation under the building code.

What is Spray Foam Insualtion
Spray foam is a polyurethane foam insulation. Spraytek uses Walltite Eco, a medium-density polyurethane foam insulation/air barrier system designed to improve the energy efficiency of any type of building. It includes recycled plastic and a zero ozone-depleting blowing agent. It adheres to virtually any surface, providing a gap-free, airtight envelope of low permeability for harsh winters in Canada.

R-value is the measure of a material’s resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the more the material insulates (R20 is twice as good as R10)

An in-field quality assurance and control program is part of Walltite Eco’s CCMC approval. In fact, BASF mandates it. The Walltite Eco quality assurance program calls for periodic audits of the installers to ensure you get a quality end product.

Is DIY Spray Foam A Good Idea?
Applying spray foam insulation requires sophisticated and expensive equipment. Spraying also requires training and experience; our sprayers have a minimum of five years experience. Only approved applicators can use Walltite Eco. If spray foam is not applied correctly it can result in gaps or holes which limit the effectiveness and R-value of the insulation.
